VITEEE Eligibility :


Eligibility: Candidates born on or after 1st July 1988 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2010. They should have studied in regular, full-time, formal stream in the school
A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum average of 60% of marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics or biology (PCM/PCB)
A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with 50% average marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics or biology (PCM/PCB) for candidates belonging to SC/ST, students hailing from Jammu and Kashmir and from the North eastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh
Physics, chemistry and mathematics (PCM) candidates are eligible for all the programmes

Eligibility Criteria : The applicant must be a citizen of India and should have passed the H.S.(10+2) or its equivalent examination. The general candidates must have to secure at least 50.00% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology taken together (40.00% for SC/ST candidates) and at least 30.00% marks in English (for all categories). In addition, candidates must secure at least pass marks in the subjects individually including vernacular (or any other fifth subject) as mentioned below:
B.E/B.Tech./B.Arch :Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject.

M.B.B.S/B.D.S. : Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject.
PHARMACY: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject.
For MBBS and BDS courses : In addition to the aforesaid eligibility criteria, the general candidates must have to secure at least 50.00% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biological Sciences taken together (40.00% for SC/ST) in the Joint Entrance Examination, W.B. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in 2010 will be allowed to sit for JEM-2010 provisionally and their admission, if merit listed, will be subjected to satisfying the minimum requirements of eligibility as specified above.
Age Restriction:Candidates must be 17 (seventeen) years of age or above as on 31.12.2010. There is no upper age limit except for the Marine Engineering course for which the upper age limit is 25 years as on 31.07.2010.

Residential Requirements: Candidates desirous of seeking admission to Government Engineering / Technology Colleges, Govt. Medical and Dental Colleges as well as to Private Medical and Dental Colleges, must have been residing in the State of West Bengal continuously at least for last 10 (ten) years as on 31.12.2009 or their parents must be permanent resident of West Bengal having their permanent home addresses in the State of West Bengal.

Reservation :Reservation for SC/ST/PC candidates are as per  State Govt. Rules.
Examination Centre: To be located in the State of West Bengal and Tripura.
Cost of Application Form : The Application Kit (i.e., prescribed printed application form along with Information Brochure and a printed envelope) will be available from different Branches of United Bank of India (as specified below) on payment of Rs.500/- (for E / M type Form) and Rs.600/- for C type Form in cash .

The Application Kit may also be obtained by Post from the Board’s Office on application with an additional fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees one hundred) only. The total amount (i.e., cost of application form plus Rs.100/-) has to be paid by Demand Draft drawn in favour of “WEST BENGAL JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS BOARD” payable at Howrah/Kolkata. The last date for request for application-kit by post is 08.12.2009 and the last date for receipt of completed application form by Speed Post only is 12.01.2010. Request for application form received beyond the stipulated date as mentioned above will not be entertained and the Board shall not be held responsible in any manner whatsoever for such non-receipt arising out of postal delay. The Application Kit may also be obtained from the Board’s Office only with payment of late fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) in addition to the actual cost of the form. The whole amount is to be paid through a Bank Draft to be drawn in favour of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board” payable at Kolkata / Howrah from 01.01.2010 to 07.01.2010.  The application form once purchased cannot be returned or replaced.         
                                                                    
How to Apply : The duly filled in  application form must be sent in the  printed  envelope received by the candidate within the Application Kit  by SPEED POST only  so as to reach the office of the Board by 12.01.2010. AIIMS MBBS Entrance Examination Notification 2010 For admissions to MBBS Course Auguest 2010 Session 

Applications are invited in the prescribed form for admission to MBBS Course commencing on 1st August, 2010. Entrance Examination will be held on 01.06.2010 (Tuseday). Application forms, complete in all respects, must reach AIIMS, New Delhi latest by 5.00 P.M. on 25.03.2010.

AIIMS 2010 MBBS ADMISSION ELIGIBILITY

Eligibility Criteria: (i) Candidates who have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English securing a minimum of 60% marks (50% in case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe
candidates) aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English or whose results of Class-XII are likely to be declared by 7th July, 2010 are eligible to apply. (ii) The candidate should have attained the age of 17 (seventeen) years as on 31st December, 2010.

JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exam Pattern
The Entrance Examination will be of multiple choice type questions totaling 200 in the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Each answer with correct response shall be awarded one mark. Zero Mark will be given for the question not answered. More than one answer indicated against a question, will be deemed as incorrect response and no mark will be given. There is no NEGATIVE MARKING. The model of the question of the Entrance Examination is given in the Prospectus
Eligibility criteria
Essential: Applicant must be a resident Indian national. Applicant should have studied and completed their course in the schools located in India in the preceding two years. Applicant should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31.10.2010
Educational: Applicant should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Botany/Zoology with at least 50% aggregate marks in PCB for unreserved category (40% for SC/ST/OBC and a pass in English). Those who are appearing for class 12th exams in 2010 can also apply.
Entrance examination: JIPMER uses paper-based test administration (MCQ) for merit listing the candidates for the above admissions. Candidate has to appear for entrance examination to be conducted by JIPMER on 06th June 2010 (Sunday), 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
EXAMINATION CENTRES:
Candidate can opt for one of the following centres for the entrance examination: Ahmedabad, Bangaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Nagpur, New Delhi, Puducherry and Thiruvananthapuram

HOW TO APPLY

Application: Application-cum-prospectus for MBBS course 2010 session can be obtained by one of the following methods (i) from the counter of state bank of India (SBI), JIPMER campus only from 25.02.2010 to 15.04.2010 or (ii) postal request to professor academic, JIPMER from 25.02.2010 to 08.04.2010 accompanied by required demand draft. Two stickers with candidate’s address written legibly must also be enclosed for correct delivery of the prospectus and application form or (iii) on-line submission through JIPMER website www.jipmer.edu from 25.02.2010 to 08.04.2010. Completed online applications with required demand draft must reach Professor academic, JIPMER on or before 15.04.2010
Payment process: Prospectus and application form are available on cash payment of Rs 850/- (for categories UR/OBC/P-UR/P-OBC) Rs 500/- (for categories SC/ST/P-SC) only at state bank of India, JIPMER campus branch
Applicants wanting to obtain the prospectus and pre-printed form by post will have to send a MICR demand draft drawn in favour of Accounts officer, JIPMER payable at Puducherry (Pondicherry) union territory for the above prescribed amount. No other mode of payment is permitted.

What is GATE ?


The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all-India examination administered and conducted in eight zones across the country by the GATE Committee comprising faculty from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordinating Board - GATE,
Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India.

Admission to post graduate programmes with MHRD and some other government scholarship/assistantship at engineering colleges/institutes in the country are open to those who qualify through GATE. GATE qualified candidates with Bachelor degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy or Master degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications are eligible for Master/Doctoral programmes in Engineering/ Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy as well as for Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of Science. To avail the scholarship, the candidate must additionally secure admission to such a postgraduate programme, as per the prevailing procedure of the admitting institution. GATE qualification, however, is not required for candidates with Master degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy who may be seeking scholarship/assistantship for relevant doctoral programmes.
The overall coordination and responsibility of conducting GATE 2010 lies with Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati , designated as the Organizing Institute for GATE 2010.

ELIGIBILITY FOR GATE

The following categories of candidates are eligible to appear in GATE :
  1. Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/Technology/Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
  2. Master degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
  3. Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology.
  4. Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognised by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by IE(I), AMICE(I) by the Institute of Civil Engineers (India)-ICE(I)) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.

What is new in GATE 2010

  1. New Paper introduced in GATE 2010: Biotechnology (BT) has been introduced as an independent paper from GATE 2010.
  2. Common Component of General Aptitude (GA) introduced in GATE 2010: Each GATE paper shall have a common General Aptitude (GA) component carrying 15 marks from GATE 2010.
  3. Papers to be discontinued from GATE 2010 onwards:
    • Due to introduction of an independent paper in Biotechnology (BT), the Biotechnology section in Life Sciences (XL) paper has been discontinued from GATE 2010.
    • There will not be GATE 2010 examination in Pharmaceutical Sciences (PY) paper. For more information about the organization which will be conducting a GATE like examination for PY, the candidates are advised to visit GATE 2010 website from time to time.
  4. ONLINE Examination for MN and TF paper:
    • Computer based ONLINE examination for the paper MN will be held in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Mumbai, Roorkee on February 07, 2010 (Sunday) at 09.30 hrs – 12.30 hrs
    • Computer based ONLINE examination for the paper TF will be held in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Mumbai, Roorkee February 07, 2010 (Sunday) 14.30 hrs – 17.30 hrs
  5. Online Application form with online payment option: Online payment is possible through HDFC bank payment gateway using Mastercard or Visa credit cards, and debit cards of certain banks as listed on the web site. Offline payment is also possible through a demand draft.

    Step 1: Procurement of Application Form

    Candidate can obtain a packet containing:
    • Offline Application Form
    • Information Brochure
    • Acknowledgment Card
    • Envelope
    from:
    1. Designated Bank Branches corresponding to each zone on cash payment.
    2. Zonal GATE Office by sending a request letter and TWO self-addressed slips along with a Demand Draft for appropriate amount.
    3. Over the counter from Zonal GATE Office after handing over Demand Draft for appropriate amount.
    Step 1: Select Payment Option:
    • Online Payment: Online Payment is possible through HDFC bank payment gateway using Mastercard or Visa credit cards or debit cards of certain banks.
    • Offline payment: Offline payment is possible through a demand draft payable at Kanpur in the name of "Chairman GATE, IIT Kanpur". Please obtain this prior to start of the online filling of the application.
    Step 2: Obtain Digital Photo and Scanned Signature.
    Candidates are advised to have a digital photograph and scanned signature prior to starting the filling of application and these should be uploaded when applying Online. Otherwise they have to submit it later.
    Step 2: Obtain SC/ST/PD Certificate (if applicable)

    SC/ST and Disability Certificate should be obtained from appropriate authority.

    Step 3: Fill in the Application Form: Candidates must follow the instructions provided in GATE 2010 brochure. Step 4: Apply Online: Candidates must follow the instructions provided on the online application form filling page.
    Step 4: Post/Submission Duly filled-in Application Form with appropriate enclosures must be sent by Registered or Speed post to The Chairman, GATE of the Zone, where the candidate prefers (corresponding to the 1st Choice of Examination City) to appear for the examination, on or before Tuesday, November 03, 2009
    OR
    It can be handed over personally to respective Zonal GATE Office.
    Step 5: Post/Submission An application which is incomplete by not uploading the necessary documents can be completed by sending those documents by post along with a covering note that can be printed on the online site. All such documents must reach the GATE office at IIT Kanpur by November 3, 2009.
